Gluteus: From 2 Different Sources


Three gluteal muscles form each buttock. The gluteus maximus is the large, powerful muscle that gives the buttocks their rounded shape. The remaining two muscles are the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus; together the three muscles are responsible for moving the thigh.
