A medical term that refers to the wall of a part of the body.
The term applied to anything pertaining to the wall of a cavity: for example, parietal pleura, the part of the pleural membrane which lines the wall of the chest.
adj. 1. of or relating to the inner walls of a body cavity, as opposed to the contents: applied particularly to the membranes lining a cavity (see peritoneum; pleura). 2. of or relating to the parietal bone.
