Peyer’s Patches: From 2 Different Sources


Peyer’s patches are conglomerations of lymphoid nodules in the ileum, or lower part of the small INTESTINE. They play an important part in the defence of the body against bacterial invasion, as in typhoid fever (see ENTERIC FEVER).
