Folk: Samraapani (Gujarat), Dupatiyaa.

Action: Herb—used for the treatment of dysentery. Root— given to induce sleep.

The herb, collected at the flowering stage from Mumbai, contained silica 3.87, calcium 1.02, magnesium 1.00, potassium 0.53, phosphorus 0.18%; iodine content 0.026-00.049 ppm (dry- matter basis).
